Rail freight company LTG Cargo Polska has taken a significant step in its expansion by obtaining the Single Safety Certificate (SSC) in Germany. For clients transporting cargo with LTG Cargo Polska, this means more reliable and efficient deliveries to Germany.
“Single Safety Certificate enables us to independently operate routes reaching this country – meaning faster and more efficient transportation services. The strength of ‘LTG Cargo Polska’ as a carrier lies in efficient freight transport between Poland, Ukraine, and the Baltic states, and now we have gained a strong impetus to expand our geographical reach into Germany. We see that these routes are highly relevant for our customers,” says Laimonas Nekrošius, CEO of LTG Cargo Polska.
For customers, this step means greater reliability of transport services, shorter transit times, and smoother organization of shipments, as the number of intermediary partners decreases. With LTG Cargo Polska handling transport independently, there is increased flexibility, improved responsiveness, and a greater ability to quickly adapt to market changes.
Last year, with support from EU funds, LTG Cargo Polska acquired new pocket wagons for intermodal transport between Kaunas (Lithuania) and Duisburg (Germany). Expanding the company’s rolling stock fleet with its own assets ensures a smoother daily experience for customers – simpler transport planning and more reliable services.
In 2024, LTG Cargo obtained carrier licenses in Latvia and Estonia, which enabled the company to transport cargo from Lithuania to Estonia more efficiently without changing locomotives. Combined with LTG Cargo Polska’s safety certificate in Germany, this facilitates smoother cargo transport throughout the region.
In addition to regular intermodal services on the Duisburg–Kaunas–Duisburg route, LTG Cargo Polska also transports petroleum products between Poland and Germany.
LTG Cargo Polska currently employs 130 people and operates 350 freight wagons operating on the European standard-gauge network and 20 locomotives, including Siemens locomotives capable of efficiently transporting cargo on international routes.
