LTG Cargo continues expanding its fleet of modern locomotives. Today, it has received a Siemens Vectron MS locomotive, and another vehicle is to be delivered in February. These are among the most modern locomotives in Europe that can cross the railroad border without a technical stop.
“As an operator of rail freight transport in Poland, we want to further increase the transported freight volumes for our clients, as well as our market share. The possession of modern multi-system locomotives is in line with LTG Cargo Polska’s development plans, therefore, as we have announced, we will continue to invest, in, in the modernization of locomotives,” says Michał Szlendak, CEO of LTG Cargo Polska.
Siemens Vectrons are universal locomotives that can be easily adapted to the specifics of driving in different countries, as the settings needed in different countries can be changed during the trip and in this way the transit time is decreased and more value for customers is created. This type of locomotives are being used in various European railway markets – Polish, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, optionally in Slovenia and the Netherlands.
“Vectron is the key to a variety of transport tasks across Europe, which will strengthen our operational capacity in cross-border traffic between Poland and Western European countries. High reliability, speed of crossing borders, gives everything that is required for intermodal transport, which is the future of railways. We hope that our customers will appreciate the next step in our development, and we are meeting their expectations,” adds M. Szlendak.
The Vectron is the locomotive for cross-border rail transport in Europe. Designed to efficiently and cost-effectively meet all traction needs.
Once these two new locomotives are in operation, LTG Cargo Polska will have 31 locomotives.
