In June 2020, the Polish Railway Transport Service (The Office of Rail Transport (UTK)) issued a safety certificate to the company. It allows LTG Cargo to operate in Poland with its own rolling stock and qualified personnel, so there was a need to train the drivers. Until now, due to the need for bilateral agreements between the railways and the certification of drivers, trains operated by LTG Cargo only ran to the first border station with Poland – Trakiškės.
To gain theoretical and practical knowledge the drivers visited Poland. After passing the necessary exams, they were granted permits to travel from Trakiškės to Białystok. Currently, LTG Cargo have two fully trained instructors of the Instruction Group in the Kaunas region and 14 drivers in the Vilnius and Kaunas Train Control Groups, who can drive independently in Poland.
