LTG Cargo Polska shows the power of rail transport on international route

LTG Cargo Polska played a key role in an ambitious transportation project, transporting 220 new passenger cars from the Czech Republic to Lithuania via Poland.

“LTG Cargo Polska performed the largest part of this international transport. If transported by road, 25-30 auto transporters would be needed, which shows that transporting cars by rail is not only a sustainable and fast solution, but also a competitive one,” says Laimonas Nekrošius, CEO of LTG Cargo Polska. This demonstrates the ability of the LTG Cargo Group, which includes LTG Cargo Polska, to efficiently transport goods on international routes by broad-gauge and normal-gauge rail.

The entire project was organized by LTG Cargo. Rail transportation in the Czech Republic was handled by ČD Cargo, while distribution of the cars from the Palemone terminal to their final locations in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia was handled by the Lithuanian company AV Terminal.

LTG Cargo Polska is a subsidiary of LTG Cargo, the largest rail freight forwarding company in the Baltic States. In Poland, it is developing its rail freight and forwarding operations, and provides trailer and container transport services. In 2023, LTG Cargo Polska was among the top five carriers on the Polish market in intermodal transport.
