Generators for Ukraine: LTG Cargo Polska Transports Key Shipment from Lithuania

LTG Cargo Polska, a subsidiary of Lithuania’s LTG Cargo (part of the LTG Group), partnered with logistics experts to transport a vital shipment – powerful generators and accessories – from Lithuania to Ukraine. 

“Generators and accessories are unusual but critical cargo, so we selected suitable rolling stock to ensure safe transport. The entire project was executed in close cooperation with partners in Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine. We take pride in leveraging our expertise to support Ukraine,” said Laimonas Nekrošius, President of LTG Cargo Polska.

Together with LTG Cargo – which holds carrier licenses in Latvia and Estonia – LTG Cargo Polska forms a vital north-south rail corridor connecting the Baltic States to Central and Western Europe despite differing track gauges. “This enables project shipments like new vehicles from Czechia and Slovakia or railway tracks from Austria,” noted L. Nekrošius.

Despite harsh winter conditions, this critical delivery was completed in under five days from inquiry to Ukraine. Rail transport’s key advantage? Reliably transporting large cargo volumes – like these generators and accessories – in one trip.

The shipment departed safely from Kaunas Intermodal Terminal via the 1435 mm gauge track connected in 2021.
